Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the common queries and issues charities have when applying for Google For Nonprofits.

My Organisation Already Has A Google For Nonprofits Account, But I Can't Access It. What do I do?

The preferred approach is to contact the individuals which have access to your account and get them to add you (or a generic organisation account which you have access to) as an administrative user. Details for adding a new administrative user are described here.

If you cannot contact or remember who has access to your Google For Nonprofits account, you will need to request administrative access. In order to do this you’ll need to follow the steps described in this guide. Just be aware, this can take 2-3 weeks so be patient!

Where Do I Find My TechSoup Validation Token?

Once you have registered an account with TechSoup (trading as Charity Digital in the UK), your organisation will be verified by the TechSoup team on Google’s behalf.

Most requests are reviewed in 2-14 business days, but in rare cases it can take up to 30 business days. Once complete you will receive an email from the TechSoup (Charity Digital) team with your validation token. TechSoup will contact you for more information or documentation if they cannot verify your organisation.

TechSoup validation tokens will look similar to “129d292@MyOrgName” and will be valid for 60 days. If your token expires you can create a new one, but this request might require verification.

If you need help, you can contact the TechSoup (Charity Digital) team directly using the details provided on their contact page

My Organisation Already Has An Account With Charity Digital (TechSoup), What Do I Do?

Excellent news, this means your organisation is eligible for the Google For Nonprofits program. To access your account, use your organisation’s username and password to login.

If you don’t have these details, either ask around your organisation to find someone who does or click the reset password link. You will be prompted to enter your organisation’s registered e-mail address or username and a new password will be e-mailed to you. If you do not know either of these details, then contact the Charity Digital support team at

How Long Does This Process Take?

Most Google For Nonprofits account requests are processed in 2-14 business days. This time is for Google’s partner Techsoup (Charity Digital) to verify your organisation’s charity status. You will receive an email once the review has been completed.

If you want to check the status of your application, sign in to Google For Nonprofits and the request status will be listed below your organisation’s name.
